Hello again coffee lovers! We are back from the past and now moved on to the present time. Thank you guys again for coming on my journey in Santa Cruz, but it is now time to go back to LA, well specifically Ventura county xD. I went to Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters after hiking with my sister and my girlfriend in Agoura Hills, and I always want to eat or grab something to drink after a nice hike. I rarely come out this way so I was curious as to what the area had to offer in terms of third wave coffee. Out comes Ragamuffin only a couple of miles away from the hiking trail. This shop is unique in its personality and surprising to find a gem in an area where you wouldn't expect much. Here are my thoughts on Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters!

Hello all and welcome to another post! This will be the last post in looking back at my adventures while living in Santa Cruz and what a way it will be to end. Coffeeville is a small coffee shop that opened up relatively recently in Spring of 2016. The shop is founded by a husband-wife team who started their business from a small cart located at Boulder Creek and finally landed a permanent home in the heart of Santa Cruz. This place is really special and you can feel it when you walk through the door. You know you're going to have a good time here when you see the smiling faces of at least one of the owners and just talk about their coffee. Their bean flavors are the focus of the shop and you'll be thankful that they are so meticulous about bringing out the characteristics of their beans as you take your first sip. Hello everyone and welcome back! This week we will be visiting Cafe Iveta which first started out as a small cafe in a suburb of Chicago back in 1991. They wanted to create an Italian style type of cafe where their locally famous scones will be the focal point. The founders of this place, a husband and wife, worked long and hard to perfect their scone recipe in the interim move to Santa Cruz where two of their daughters attended school (UCSC, my alma mater! Go Banana Slugs!) in 1998. It took them a little over 10 years to finally open up a cafe on the westside of Santa Cruz a couple blocks from the beautiful cliffs that over look the sea to finally locals what they have been wanting since they heard of their arrival: scones. This place became a local favorite that lead to them opening up another, larger cafe in the center of campus on UCSC 5 years later. Location: 1545 Pacific Avenue, Santa Cruz, 95060
Welcome back friends! This week we will be looking at Lulu Carpenter's which is the flagship store in downtown Santa Cruz across the street from Verve. Lulu's is one of the oldest shops to re-open in 1992 after the earthquake in 1989 and encompasses everything that is the Santa Cruz community. I actually first found this place because of the crowds on the weekends and the old brick building it is housed in. Let's go see why they have such loyal customers and what makes them so successful in the coffee battleground that is Santa Cruz. Location: Various in Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Tokyo
Welcome back my caffeine addicted friends! The next couple of posts will be during my adventures when I was living in Santa Cruz for school. This was a period where I recently stopped working at Starbucks and started heading into third wave coffee shops. If you don't know what third wave coffee is, it's basically the movement to create high quality coffee and consider coffee as an artisan food. Third wave coffee shop owners want to treat their coffee similar to how wine connoisseurs treat their wine. Verve happened to be the first stop on my adventure because they had something I have always been wanting to try at the time: Cold Brew. I knew LA had shops that had cold brew as well, but I was never able to get around to try it since I had always been working. Up north, I had more freedom to explore and experience different coffee shops that were abundant throughout Santa Cruz county. Location: Borough Market, 2 Park Street, The Borough, London SE1 9AB
Welcome back coffee lovers! This week's post will be about MonMouth Coffee Co. which is found in three locations throughout London. This past fall, my sister and I were gifted a Eurotrip from one of our aunts and we were able to spend three days in London before we met up with the tour group to visit rest of the European countries. Of course, I had to find out the best coffee joints in Central London and all the good eateries within our short time here. This place is old fashioned coffee done right. Hey guys and welcome back to another post! Get yourselves a well earned coffee break and discover this amazing shop located in the Anaheim Colony Historic District. Ink & Bean is located on a promenade lined with small businesses and lots of places to eat. This shop is also walking distance to the Anaheim Packing House (which include places like Popbar and Mini Monster among other bars and cafes). It's definitely in a prime location and the coffee explains why they are there. Location: 8509 Melrose Ave, West Hollywood, CA 90069 Hey guys and welcome to my first blog post! I've decided to make all my coffee related posts on Wednesdays and my anime ones on Saturdays (wow two posts a week!)
