Studios: C- Station Episodes: 12 Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! It's nearing the end of summer ●︿●, but when I hear the word summer, I think of barbecue and camping. That's what we will be looking at this week: an anime centered around the joys of camping! The anime is called Laid Back Camp and even though it is placed during the winter, the thrill of camping is still expressed clearly in this show. I personally have not been camping, but this anime made me want to try it once with my friends! As the name suggests, this anime is about a laid back group of friends who enjoy camping. You already know that this is another slice of life anime, but its a nice show to just kick back and relax. So pull up a lawn chair, grab your iced tea or coffee and relax while we read more about this camp!

Studios: Cloverworks (production); Trigger (animation) Episodes: 24 Hello and welcome back to my blog everyone! First of all, I wanted to apologize for missing last week. I was out of town to attend a wedding so I didn't have to time to get anything pushed out. Please forgive me! |д・) This week we will be looking at a crowd favorite this past winter season: Darling in the Franxx. This is kind of an odd anime as it has a lot going on and initially has a lot to digest. There are mysteries all over and sometimes it gets confusing for the timeline, but the characters are very much relate-able and loveable. I think this is why so many people liked them especially one of the protagonists named "Zero-Two". If you were at AX this past month, you would have seen a good amount of people dressed in her iconic red parasite suit. Let's not waste anymore time and jump into this love and action-filled anime! Air Date: Apr 6,2018 - June 29,2018
Studios: TMS Entertainment Episodes: 13 Welcome back friends! Alright we be back to the anime world this week. This time it will be a fairly recent anime that just finished two weeks ago. I know that this anime was particularly popular in circles that watch shounen animes. If you didn't already know, shounen is a genre that is targeted towards young men (age range varies but if we are being strict here, 12-18 years). This genre typically has lots of action and focuses on a strong male lead. Some examples include Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, etc. As popular as I think it is, I don't think many people actually watched it so I'm here to give me take on this anime. If you couldn't already tell by the picture above, it's about boxing (⌒▽⌒) Let's step into the ring and read more about Megalo Box! Run Time: Feb 12, 2014 - Apr 4, 2018
Author: Kouji Seo Publisher: Kodansha Volumes: 20 (195 chapters) Welcome back everyone! This week will be another manga week. The reason why I've been writing about mangas lately is because it's just more convenient for me to read mangas during my downtime at work and this week has been pretty hectic. That being said, I have read this whole manga from start to finish in three days... If you have been following me on my social media, you definitely know how addicted I was to this manga. Writing about Suzuka last week got me curious to read Fuuka since it is kind of the sequel to the former. I have watched the anime and was really into it, so I wanted to check out the manga. Boy was I in for a treat ɷ◡ɷ Kouji-sensei really has outdone himself with this series and I have read his other works including Suzuka and Kimi no Iru Machi. I was lucky enough to start reading it when the series was already completed. Waiting weekly for some chapters would have left me dying... Let's go ahead and learn what Fuuka is all about! Run Time: Mar 3, 2004 - Sep 21- 2007
Author: Kouji Seo Publisher: Kodansha Volumes: 18 (166 Chapters) Welcome back everyone! This week will be another manga post and I'm thinking of changing the structure around from our last post. Let's see how it goes! This week we will look at one of the mangas/animes that initially got me into this genre. This manga is called Suzuka, a sports-themed anime about the romance between two upcoming stars. Suzuka does have an anime adaptation and I did watch it way back then, but I felt like the manga stuck better with me throughout all of these years. I had way more memories of the manga than I did with the anime. I guess the reason being is that the anime had those generic endings that left you wanting more, so the manga was able to provide you with all of the answers to the questions you had on your mind. Anyways, allow me to introduce to you one of my most nostalgic series, Suzuka. Aired: Apr 9, 2014 - Jun 25, 2014
Studios: Madhouse Episodes: 12 Hi and welcome back everyone! So I was looking through all the posts on my blog recently, thinking about which anime or manga to write about next. I came to the sudden realization that I HAVE NOT WRITTEN ABOUT MY FAVORITE SERIES OF ALL TIME! ノಠ_ಠノ I'm so disappointed in myself that it took me this long to talk to you guys about this series. I don't think I have been into a series as I have with No Game No Life. I've watched the anime like three or four times, bought all the light novels while anxiously waiting for Vol. 7 to come out, and even watched the movie No Game No Life: Zero when it premiered in the U.S. If you haven't already noticed, I'm going to be SUPER biased, but I know that this anime might be one of those cult animes. It's a type of series where you either love it or hate it. There really isn't a happy medium, but I hope I can convince you guys on the side of loving it. Let's go ahead and hear the legendary story of the 『 』 - the world's best gamers. Run Time: Aug 7, 2013 - Nov 19,2014
Author: Yoshitoki Oima Publisher: Kadansha Volumes: 7 (62 Chapters) Welcome back everyone! First of all, I wanted to apologize for skipping a post last week ._. I was sick all week and felt like death so did not have any energy to get something out. I will make it up to you guys this week by changing our pace and talk about one of my favorite mangas, Koe no Katachi. I know that this manga has a film adaptation, but I want to speak more on the manga since the movie missed out on a lot of the charm this story (which actually made me severely disappointed). I will touch up a little on the film adaptation towards the end of the post, but let us focus on the amazing story that the manga offers. This manga was actually published as a one shot, but received serialization to become a full manga; for good reason. Let us read about what this silent voice is (since we can't hear it (ᗒᗜᗕ)՛. Studios: Madhouse Episodes: 13 Welcome back my friends! This week we will be exploring the universe! Well actually A Place Further than the Universe (see what I did there 。゚(TヮT)゚。) This anime is another slice of life anime so it is slower paced than some of the seinen or action animes, but this series has recently become one of my favorite animes of all time. As you can see from the air date, this anime is fairly recent during the winter season. The thing that really draws me into this anime is the rich story and background that each character comes from. Each character is distinct with their own personalities that do not follow the stereotypical archetypes. This is where slice of life animes shine above other genres. Seeing the interactions and development of relationships between the various characters connects you to your emotions and brings out your personality. A Place Further than the Universe does exactly that and executes it extremely well. Let's go figure out what these high school girls up to! (I highly recommend playing the soundtrack while reading this post which I will provide for you guys before the synopsis.) Aired: Oct 7,2017 - Dec 23, 2017
Studios: Orange Episodes: 12 Welcome back friends! Nice of you guys to come back to my blog for some more anime discussions! This week we will look at another anime that can be found on Prime Video. I'm sorry if you guys do not have Prime Video and unable to watch these animes, but I have previously said that I have been addicted to the animes on this platform as of late. This is one of the animes that are different from others since it is created entirely from CGI. A little more on this later in the post but it caused this anime to be visually stunning and nominated for numerous categories in the Anime Awards including Best CGI and Best Animation. Shall we visit this mysterious lustrous land? Aired: July 7, 2017 - Sep 29, 2017
Studios: Kinema Citrus Episodes: 13 Hello everyone and welcome to my comeback post! What better way to start off our return with the Anime of the Year winner for 2017, Made in Abyss. This anime was a dark horse in the category as no one really expected or even heard of this anime especially since the fan favorite, My Hero Academia, was also nominated in the same category. I guess only the biggest of fans and people in the industry knew of this anime since it was not available on any of the major streaming platforms, but on Prime Video! I'm going to be honest with you guys and I would have never known or watched this anime if it didn't win the Anime of the Year. After watching it, I can definitely tell why it did. It even opened up the plethora of anime that Prime Video has to offer, many of which are high quality. I highly suggest you all watch this anime so I will keep this post as spoiler free as much as possible. Let's head into the Abyss! |
