Who is coffee senpai?
As you can see in my picture, I started my love for coffee when I became a Starbucks barista. I was trained at a store in LA county for the experimental "Starbucks Evenings" store chain at the time. What differentiated between regular Starbucks and an Evenings store is that after 12pm, there is an added menu to include beer, wine, and small entree items such as bacon wrapped dates, flatbreads, and truffle mac and cheese (my personal favorite). The store I was hired from was in the process of transitioning into one of these stores and I was one of the first baristas trained with an Evenings store background. As such, the store kind of drilled me in the procedures that differentiate between the two types of stores. One thing they made very clear was the education of coffee and the science behind it which intrigued me in finding the perfect cup. Shortly after leaving Starbucks, my love for coffee remained and I continue to this day to learn more about what makes a great cup of coffee while exploring various coffee shops to see what each does differently. I hope one day to own my own espresso machine and refine my own techniques to make my flavor truly unique.

I love reading or watching a good story so it only makes sense that I would be an Otaku right? If you don't know what an Otaku is, it's basically a "shut in" who would prefer staying home watching anime or playing video games. "But how can you be an Otaku and still go out for coffee?!" you might ask. I like to consider myself as a "functioning Otaku" where I don't mind staying home, but would most definitely go out for a good cup of coffee or delicious food! I think I noticed I was an Otaku when I was in high school where I would much rather play World of Warcraft or watch the newest episode of Kimi no Iru Machi (A Town You Live In) than go to parties no matter how hard my friends tried to get me to go. Being a competitive person, playing video games is something that I find solace in and I think it is a good contrast into the types of animes and dramas I watch (mainly cutesy, romantic-types). My love for good stories don't stop only at anime or dramas, but also movies so you might see me talk about certain movies I enjoy a lot once in a while! If you're curious as to what animes I have watched, you can check my MAL profile here!
